Introduction To Scaffold Shrink Wrap
EcoShrink installs scaffold shrink wrap across the UK to keep programmes moving in bad weather and improve site presentation. Also known as scaffold wrap or wrapped scaffolding, our FR-rated systems create a tight, welded skin that resists wind, controls dust and helps you hand over cleanly.
From take-off to handover, you’ll get a tailored, personal service. Explore methods, options and FAQs below - or request a fast quote and book a start date.

Why Wrapped Scaffolding Beats Sheeting
(Wind • Safety • Schedule)
Loose sheets flap, eyelets pop and re-sheeting soaks time and budget. Wrapped scaffolding is heat-shrunk into a drum-tight skin, cutting wind loading, keeping debris in and rain out. Crews work in a controlled environment, trades keep moving and elevations look professional throughout.
Wind Stability & Safety:
Drum-tight wrap cuts the sail effect and flapping, reducing call-outs and keeping decks safer to work on.
Weather & Dust Control:
A fully sealed skin keeps rain and debris out, protecting plant, finishes and neighbours.
Programme & Presentation:
Fewer weather delays and re-sheets mean steadier timelines and tidier elevations.
Flame-retardant Compliance:
Certified FR film with QA docs at handover.
How we install scaffold wrap (methods & FR compliance)
We plan, install and sign off scaffold shrink wrap in a controlled sequence. The aim is a drum-tight, FR-rated skin with neat terminations, safe access and clean documentation at handover. Use the tabs to see what we do and what we specify.
Take-off & RA/MS
Review drawings, agree elevations and access, issue RA/MS and hot-works controls.
Scaffold Check
Confirm the structure is tagged, sound and compliant for wrapped scaffolding (ties, bracing, working lifts)
Surface Prep
Advise on any protrusions that need to be trimmed where possible. The more square / flush the surface, the better the wrap.
Weather Window
Schedule installs in dry, lower-wind periods using MetOffice forecasts which include wind gusts speeds.
Brief & Zone
Toolbox talk, PPE check, hot-works permit, extinguishers, and a signed exclusion zone.

Sustainability & Recycling
We specify recyclable, flame-retardant PE films and design installs to cut waste from the start. Off-cuts are kept clean, bagged and collected through take-back partners where available. A tidier method means less waste, an easier demob—and better recycling rates.
What We Do
-
Plan panels to reduce off-cuts:
Pre-cut by bay/lift and avoid unnecessary seams.
-
Specify recyclable FR films:
Grades commonly accepted by UK processors (subject to local availability).
-
Segregate on site:
Off-cuts and lift-down film kept clean, dry and free of rubble/cable ties.
-
Document it:
Handover notes include the recycling plan and take-back details (where running).
What You Can Do
-
Keep it clean:
Avoid ground-contact/mud and minimise paint/adhesives on the film.
-
Bag and store dry:
Use clear sacks; keep out of the weather until collection.
-
Separate extras:
Remove timber, metal fixings and heavy tape where practical.
-
Book collection early:
We can align demob with a take-back pickup (where schemes operate).
Note: Printed wrap can still be recycled if kept clean; we plan artwork/seams to minimise waste.
